Dec. 19 — A resident stopped an officer to say people have been dumping garbage near the cement blocks on Willows Road on the backside of Eagle’s Nest. The officer found some garbage that looked like it had been there awhile and a bunch of wheels and tires. Another citizen said he noticed a red Nissan and blue Kia there the other day and maybe are the ones dumping.

Dec. 21 — Charges of first-degree criminal trespass and second-degree malicious mischief were recommended for Shelley Rae Ferryman, 59 of Ocean Park, after a police call to a Long Beach motel. She and her dogs were staying in a room without permission. The caller said she did not talk to anyone there and he wanted her charged, and said he has to bring in a carpet cleaner for dog feces on the carpet. The officer checked and confirmed there was dog feces on the carpet. Ferryman returned into the room while the officer was there. When asked if that was poop on the carpet, she rubbed it with her hand and it smeared and then she smelled it.
Ocean Beach Hospital asked a Long Beach officer to retrieve a patient’s wallet and cell phone that were left in his pickup parked at North Head Lighthouse. The officer found and returned the items. A State Parks officer later investigated and found “the subject did jump off the cliff to commit suicide with his dog last night around [10 p.m.] and possibly broke his leg, [and his] dog apparently died. He then made it over to the beach where a female was playing with her a dog at [3:30 a.m.] and she gave him a ride to the hospital.”
Dec. 23 — A Long Beach resident reported yelling and banging at her neighbors’ residence. An officer contacted the female neighbor “who advised me that she was just having sex and she was yelling. Her boyfriend also came to the door and confirmed. I wished them Happy Holidays and cleared.”

Dec. 27 — An officer investigated a report of a vehicle being driven on the wrong side of the road southbound on Pacific Ave N at 6:37 p.m. It was last seen turning into Driftwood RV. Two elderly subjects were contacted outside the vehicle. The female driver said she may have been on the wrong side of the road because she doesn’t see well at night. There were no signs or symptoms of drug or alcohol impairment. The driver was later found to be currently driving while license suspended, third degree.
