Dec. 9 — Jennifer M. Thompson, 51, of Astoria, was arrested in Pacific City, Oregon, and a 2019 Kia Sorento was recovered on Dec. 10 after a man stated that he let Thompson and her young daughter borrow his car on Dec. 7. He expected her to return the vehicle the same day but she did not. He tried to call Thompson and she did not return his calls. The car was then reported stolen, after which Thompson was apprehended in Tillamook County and booked into jail.

A caller said that there were three gray/black poodles attacking ducks and chickens at Ilwaco City Park. A responding officer tried to catch the dogs but they ran away. The owner was contacted and said she had been looking for them all day. She was given a ticket for Dog Nuisance and told she could also be given Potentially Dangerous Dog paperwork if the dogs get reported being aggressive again.
Long Beach hotel staff reported there was an intoxicated guest who was harassing other guests, and they wished to terminate her stay. Responding officers found her to be intoxicated and very loud and aggressive throughout their contact with her. An officer instructed her that she needed to collect her things and leave. Officers had to tell her many times to collect her things as she kept stating she was confused why she was being kicked out for the toilet not flushing.
Dec. 15 — Joseph N. Shawa, 40, of Long Beach, faced a potential charge of second-degree assault after his neighbor said Shawa stabbed him in the face with a sword and that he was bleeding. The victim declined medical aid.
