Letter: Forum made impression on voter

I attended the “Meet The Candidates” Forum at Hilltop school on Oct. 23 and stayed for the entire thing.
I was super impressed with Marie Glusenkamp Perez as she had well thought out answers and is obviously heavily involved in the issues and absolutely understands her constituents and I feel well represented by her and I am excited to see her win again and continue in this position. Joe Kent seems to hate our government, not really able to directly answer questions and has no problem with making up facts to fit his narrow and shallow narrative. He seems uninformed and does not understand the people in the district he is trying to represent. He appears to be shallow, selfish and self-absorbed — not the characteristics of a servant leader.
David McClain appears knowledgeable in building energy companies but not very knowledgeable about our PUD as he misquoted some facts both in the paper and again onstage. Debbie Oakes appears to care deeply, have a good sense of what is needed to serve her constituents now and into the future and I very much appreciated what she had to say and how she said it. I am excited to vote for her now that I have heard from her directly.
Andi Day, Terry Carlson, Mike Coverdale and Dave Tobin all will be getting my vote based not only on what they said last night but the way they said it and the passion behind those words. None of their opponents bothered to show up and that says a lot right there but I have done my research and I do not believe that they would have added much to the conversation. I hope that my neighbors will join me in voting to put these fine people into office in early November. I am excited to have such good choices on the ballot this November.
