I have known Debbie Oakes for probably 40-plus years now. She has always been one to look to the future and try to do something good for the benefit of our community. She understands our unique demographics when it comes to the population. This knowledge only strengthens her abilities as a commissioner.

She was one of a group to reactivate the PTSA at Ocean Beach School District. She continues her support of Pacific County by being one of the commissioners for PUD #2.

I asked Debbie why, when she could be completely retired, did she want to run again. She was very succinct with her answer. She said she came to the job as a commissioner who admittedly had limited knowledge about the inner workings of a public utility district. As is Debbie’s way, she studied, attended meetings and seminars so that she could be a good contributing commissioner.

She told me that several projects had been started during her first term as commissioner. She wants to see as many of these projects to fruition before her terms are over. I feel she is very committed to doing this and that she will accomplish her goals.

Please join me in voting for Debbie Oakes. She cares about all the people in the PUD #2 district. She has no outside agenda. She has our best interests at heart.
