Sport salmon fishing extended through year end

Salmon fishing has been extended through the end of the year on the main stem of the Columbia River.

The decision comes after Washington and Oregon fishery managers assessed harvest in the fall season recreational fisheries and considered the abundance expectations for upriver salmon and steelhead stocks.
From Buoy 10 to west Puget Island, the daily adult bag limit is three salmon through the end of October (Chinook or hatchery coho, only one may be a Chinook). In November and December, the daily adult bag limit is two salmon/steelhead (Chinook, hatchery coho, or hatchery steelhead, but no more than one may be a Chinook).
