It is my honor and pleasure to support Debbie Oakes for the position of Pacific County Public Utility District No. 2. She has been serving in this capacity for the past six years, and has done a yeoman’s job, going from having minimal insight into the PUD business itself in the beginning, to being very knowledgeable and active in the oversight function of the board. She now has a proven track record of serving the people of Pacific County well through the PUD #2.

Having Debbie for my friend for nearly 50 years is a true blessing, but it also gives me great insight into her character. She is a born leader, as she has served on other boards, volunteered for many community activities, school activities, etc. She is honest, kind, trustworthy, inquisitive, generous with her time and talents, and hard worker who cares about our community. She is level-headed and open to looking at all sides of a situation, asking good questions in order to gain insight, until the facts are known, before making a decision.

Debbie is very knowledgeable regarding finances, budgeting and the importance of them, after owning a successful commercial fishing business with her husband for fifty years. She understands the importance of small businesses in our community and the challenges they face. She is committed to keeping the PUD’s rates reasonable for the citizens of our community.

Debbie is looking forward to serving our community as Commissioner of Pacific County PUD #2 for another term. Please join me in voting for her.
