Aug. 19 — At the Howerton Way bus stop there was a report of a male and female fighting and the man had pushed the woman. Police were unable to locate.

Police contacted a subject inside the large dumpster next to the restrooms at 3rd Street SW and Bolstad Avenue. He said he was trying to find cans to recycle. He was given a warning for theft and advised that he would be cited for driving while license suspended if he continued to drive in Long Beach or Ilwaco.
Aug. 21 — There was a report of a female being handcuffed and then walked down the sidewalk wearing a leash. An officer was in the area when the call came out and did not observe anything matching this description. The officer called the reporting party and asked if the person appeared to be in distress and she said no. There were lots of people outside in the area and police received no additional phone calls.
Aug. 23 — A caller at Driftwood Point Apartments called to say Jacob M. Stapleton, 27, of Long Beach, was on the property and had previously been trespassed. Officers arrived and contacted Stapleton, told him that he was not supposed to be on the property and that he was under arrest for trespassing again. Stapleton pulled away and began yelling “Help,” then told an officer not to touch him. The officer grabbed Stapleton’s arm and attempted an arm bar takedown. When that didn’t work the officer used an arm bar and leg sweep and took him to the ground. Stapleton was handcuffed and placed in the back of the patrol car. Police attempted to book Stapleton but no beds were available. He was issued a citation for second-degree trespass and resisting arrest, then released.

Aug. 24 — At a beachfront hotel there was a report of a male subject masturbating standing in the window of a room completely in the nude. An officer made contact with the reporting party, who said that a naked woman also appeared in the window. He did not want to pursue charges for indecent exposure. The officer made contact with the front desk clerk, who went to the room with the officer, who told the occupants they needed to shut the curtains or the hotel was going to ask them to leave.
A caller reported an aggressive skateboarder who refused to leave the Ilwaco Saturday Market. The caller said the suspect was riding through the market at high speeds and bumped into her. An officer responded and made contact with the caller, who said she did not have any injuries but did want the suspect trespassed. The officer was unable to locate the suspect.
Jeffrey M. Bramel, 37, of Ocean Park, was cited for hit and run of an attended vehicle after a report that someone was rear ended by another vehicle that then fled the scene. An officer located the suspect vehicle that was found unoccupied behind His Supper Table. The officer was given a description of the subject by witnesses and Bramel was located at Pioneer Market. He admitted to being the driver involved in the hit and run. He was cited and released for hit and run attended vehicle, operating a motor vehicle without insurance, and no valid operator’s license with valid ID.
Aug. 25 — There was a report from an Ilwaco harbor hotel of a male looking under cars and acting strange. He became a little confrontational toward the responding officer about being accused of looking under cars and denied it. He calmed down a bit after talking to him for a little while but he still wasn’t happy. The officer then cleared contact with him, and later looked him up and discovered he has lots of criminal trespassing issues in the north end of the county, and also has an obstruction/resisting warrant out of Aberdeen.
An officer was flagged down by a woman who said her son’s girlfriend left her wallet inside Stormin’ Norman’s prior to going to dinner and the store was now closed. The officer contacted the responsible party and explained the situation. She came down and unlocked the store so the son’s girlfriend could look for her wallet. The wallet was located in the dressing room.
