OYSTERVILLE — Old-time mountain music? Square dance fiddling? Blues or gospel, jazz or pop music? No matter your musical preference, Jim and Jan Delfel and Al Price of the Squeaky Wheels have planned a Music Vespers program that will please every listener.

The Aug. 18 service begins at 3 p.m. with a traditional “Oysterville Moment” by storyteller Sydney Stevens, followed by pianist Barbara Bate’s accompaniment to the congregation’s hymn-singing, and a short spiritual message from Pastor Steve Kovach. Monies from the collection baskets (passed during the hymn singing) are used by the Oysterville Restoration Foundation for their continued maintenance of the historic church.

The summer vesper services are an Oysterville tradition of nearly 50 years. The public is invited to “come as you are” and to share in the tradition and fellowship of this free Sunday afternoon event.
