LONGVIEW — On Tuesdays at noon WSU Master Gardeners present weekly free online programs. In addition, for those able to travel to Longview, there are occasional in-depth in-person classes. The following classes are online unless otherwise noted.
July 9: How much water for your garden? — Join WSU Master Gardener Sara Clark to learn the best watering practices for your garden, lawn, and landscape. Discover how much is enough and the most effective ways to water. Don’t miss this informative and timely talk.
July 16: Basics of canning tomatoes — As more gardeners grow their own food, learning to preserve it is essential. Join WSU Master Food Preserver Helen Redmond to discover safe methods for canning tomatoes. Preserve your harvest and enjoy your tomatoes year-round!
July 23: Protecting your plants from the heat — Plants continue to suffer every summer from heat, sun, and lack of moisture. Join us as WSU Master Gardener Tom Myklebust unveils a toolkit of techniques to safeguard your precious plants and equip yourself with the knowledge and skills to protect your plants from the scorching summer heat.
July 30: Rooftop Gardening — Join WSU Master Gardener Amy Norquist to learn about the benefits of green roofs and rooftop gardens. Amy will cover design, plant selection, and share inspiring examples. Don’t miss this chance to dive into this growing technology! Transform your rooftop into a thriving garden oasis!
