June 24 — A reporting party said someone shoplifted from Raven Ridge Mercantile. An employee showed officers a video of a female subject with bleached blonde hair, a leopard print dress and a tattoo on the upper left shoulder sticking items into her bag. After investigation, Kathleen K. Metternich, 46, of Ocean Park, was cited for third-degree theft.

June 25 — A resident of Beacon RV Park wanted to know who to call about her power being disconnected and believes it was done by homeless people. An officer looked at the box and it appeared the breakers were removed.

June 26 — A reporting party called to say that her 10-year-old grandson took her phone after she went to sleep and called 911. She had a message on her phone when she woke up from an officer asking her to call back. She was hoping an officer could speak with her grandson about the importance of not calling 911 for non-emergencies. She said she has tried to talk to him about it, but he doesn’t seem to take it seriously.

June 27 — Jamie E.M. Mickelson, 51, of Long Beach, faces a charge of fourth-degree assault-domestic violence after an accusation that he was drinking and grabbed his girlfriend, who said she had bruises all over her arm. On June 28 he was cited for protection order violation.

It was reported that two victims arrived at the emergency room for medical attention. “The male subject had been stabbed and the female subject had been assaulted. It was later determined that the male subject had hit the female subject, leaving marks on the left side of her head, and held her against her will. The female subject stabbed the male subject to get out of the storage unit she was being unlawfully held at.” The suspect had fled from the hospital prior to receiving this information. This case remains under investigation.

June 28 — Police were dispatched to a single-vehicle accident where a truck went off the road and hit a pole at First Avenue S and Howerton Way in Ilwaco. Police cited and released the driver, Christopher E. Manning, 23, of Ilwaco, for first-degree negligent driving and gave him a courtesy transport to his residence in Ocean Park.

A McDonald’s employee reported the outside of their building had been tagged with graffiti in two locations overnight. They are reviewing security camera footage and would send it to police. An officer reviewed the footage but was unable to identify subjects in the video.

Jerrod A. Lague, 21, faces a charge of violation of a protection order in Ilwaco after officers responded to a garage at a Spruce Street residence that he is prohibited from being within 1,000 feet of. He had left the area before officers arrived.

June 30 — An employee at Chevron reported a transient male was pacing outside the store and harassing customers after a disagreement over scratch-off tickets. An officer contacted the employee, who said the subject provided approximately 15 scratch-off tickets to redeem but they were all either non-winners or had already been redeemed at another location. After he returned all the tickets to the subject, he claimed he was supposed to be paid out $60 and accused the employee of stealing the money. There was no evidence whatsoever to support these claims.
