OYSTERVILLE — Mark Pearson has attended past Vesper services at the Oysterville Church and, like so many others over the last 46 years, he is returning. The historic building’s amazing acoustics and gentle ambiance have called him back as the featured performer for the 3 p.m. service on Sunday, June 23.

The service will open with “The Oysterville Moment” — a five-minute anecdote about the old church to be presented by Sydney Stevens. Steve Kovach will talk briefly about “Grace” following which he will lead the congregation in singing a familiar hymn to the accompaniment of Ferrell Hornsby playing the old-fashioned pump organ. A collection basket will be passed for those who wish to contribute to the ongoing care and maintenance of the building.

And then, as is traditional with the Oysterville Music Vespers series, the featured musician of the day, Mark Pearson, will command center stage for the remaining 45 minutes of the hour-long service. The public is invited to “come as you are” to this free service that is organized by Sue and Bill Svendsen and sponsored by the Oysterville Restoration Foundation.
