OCEAN PARK — The Peninsula Moose Lodge No. 2362 will host an artisans fair June 22 and 23.

The event will take place at the lodge, 25915 U St., in Ocean Park.

Admission is free to the public. It will feature local artists with handcrafted items, mosaics, jewelry, plants, hats, smoked cheeses, bottle jewelry and fused glass items. There will be a raffle of items donated from vendors.

The activities will take place inside the lodge and in two tents outside.

“We have never had this before, but we are excited,” said Lourdes Valle, one of the organizers.

Among those taking part will be chainsaw artist Blaine Gunkel and Bear Creek Chainsaw Carvings of Ocean Park, who will demonstrate his carving skills. Valle is among the vendors, offering copper bottle wraps that spruce up wine or other beverage gifts.

The first-time event is designed to raise money to benefit the Moose Charities. For details, visit www.moosecharities.org. The national Moose organization is based in Mooseheart, Illinois. Leaders operate a year-round boarding school for disadvantaged children west of Chicago and a retirement community with almost 300 residents in Florida.
