Letter: Be a butterfly on behalf of suicide prevention

Published 7:02 pm Monday, June 10, 2024

Practical suicide prevention is as simple as being a butterfly. Visiting around our community and doing what you can to provide a listening ear and support.

Transitions can be survived even when pain makes you question whether life is worth living, if you look at the things that offer hope and then work to offer it. Fluttering as a group reminder is even more practical and beautiful.

The Hope Floats Action raised money to Stop The Alarming Rise of Suicide (STARS) in Pacific County (15 lost since Jan. 1st) and that initiative is like a flock of butterflies and it offers hope.
