Animal Shelter Report: Outgoing Saffron is Pet of the Week

Published 8:28 am Monday, June 3, 2024

Sometimes it makes us sad to see the cats and dogs at the shelter we know to be friendly linger through no fault of their own. You can see in their eyes how badly they want homes of their own with people who love them.

This pretty little ginger girl “Saffron” goes out of her way to greet playroom visitors with her cute chirping meow. All she wants is attention. It is easy to envision her as a family-friendly kitty companion, or as company for a single person.

Saffron is 3 years old, is full of energy, and loves to play. It’s fun to imagine her leaping after a toy pulled by an equally playful child in the family. She would do well in any household where she can run and play to her heart’s content!

As Pet of the Week, Saffron’s adoption fee has been halved to just $50. She is fully vetted and ready to bring joy and happiness to her new household!

Shelter Wish List

We have a high census of dogs right now and are running very low on kibble dog food. We would be very grateful to receive donations of dry dog food. Costco’s various Kirkland brand kibble varieties are a good buy, and their high quality helps the dogs thrive. Some of the dogs who end up in the shelter come from unfortunate circumstances, and arrive very thin and malnourished. When we have nutritious food available to feed them, you can see the improvement in their condition and energy levels in just a few short weeks! Thanks to our supporters for your generosity and for caring!

We are open 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday by appointment only for adoptions and surrenders. Stray drop-off, spay/neuter vouchers and pet food .program are available during open hours.

View our available cats and dogs and submit an online application at our website beachpets.com. An approved adoption application is required before scheduling a meet and greet with your selected animal.
