May 6 — A Pioneer Market employee called 911 to report a male subject passed out in a vehicle at the fuel pumps. Employees and customers were initially unable to wake the subject in the driver’s seat. When the male subject woke up, they were concerned that he was not in any condition to drive. Officers arrived on-scene and observed the vehicle was unoccupied. Employees in the parking lot advised that the subject left his vehicle and was currently in the porta-potty. An officer looked inside the vehicle and observed numerous items of used drug paraphernalia and a baggie of white pills on the passenger seat. The driver then exited the porta-potty and began walking toward his vehicle. He had a knife that was later determined to be an illegal spring-loaded knife clipped onto his pants pocket. The driver had numerous open sores on his face that appeared to be consistent with methamphetamine consumption. He seemed agitated, lethargic, unsteady on his feet, and possibly under the influence of drugs. He was patted down for additional weapons. A clear plastic jar containing suspected methamphetamine was visible in his outer jacket pocket. He was detained in handcuffs while an officer continued the pat-down search. Two additional knives and multiple items of drug paraphernalia were located on his person. After receiving a Miranda warning the subject continued talking with an officer. He was at the fuel pump for approximately three hours before 911 was called. WSP Trooper Parker responded and ended up arresting the driver for DUI.
