County’s April climate about average

LONG BEACH — Pacific County’s round-the-clock temperature was 48.2°F this April, one degree warmer than the 1895-2000 average of 47.2°F, according to NOAA’s National Centers for Environmental Information.

Nighttime lows in the county averaged 38.3°F during the month, which also was a degree warmer than the long-term average. Daytime highs were 58.1°F, 1.1°F above average.
Rainfall totaled about 6.09 inches across the county in April, close to average for the month. Since the start of the water year on Oct. 1, 2023, NOAA figures a county rainfall total of 74.30 inches, or 1.8 inches below the 1895-2000 average.
NOAA’s West Olympic Coast climatic division, of which Pacific County is a part, totaled 85.55 inches of precipitation between Oct. 1, 2023 and April 30, 6.10 inches below average.
