The incident transpired after someone reported to the Pacific County 911 Dispatch Center (PacCom) that the toolbox was on the side of the road near the roundabout. An officer from the Raymond Police Department was already in the area waiting for additional manpower to load it up.
According to court records, while waiting in a parking lot at the Northwest Carriage Museum, the officer witnessed a white Toyota Tacoma pull up to the toolbox and an occupant began rummaging through it.
“As I exited the roundabout onto SR 6, I could see the Tacoma, which was parked next to the toolbox,” investigating officer Rikki Changala (Coma) stated in court records. “I observed the silhouette of someone run around the front of the vehicle and get into the driver’s seat.”

“The Tacoma then pulled back on the Highway 6 and accelerated. I was just going to run the plate of the vehicle to see who it was, but then I was not able to close the space between me and the Tacoma,” Changala added.
Changala reportedly attempted to pace the vehicle, which was estimated to be traveling over 60 mph in a 35 mph zone. She chased after the vehicle, activating her patrol vehicle’s emergency lights, before losing it around Galey’s Grocery on SR 6.
According to court records, she observed the vehicle traveling down Oldani Road and chased after it down Willapa Road and then Monohon Road before losing sight of it.
“[SBPD Sgt. Luis] Gonzalez and [SBPD] Officer [Jordan] Dockter came in from Highway 101 and Monohon Landing Rd. and met up with me at Elk Creek Road,” Changala stated.
“We then all drove toward Old Willapa in attempt to locate the Tacoma on a side road or possibly off the side of the roadway,” Changala added.
Officers located the truck that crashed into a ditch off Bezemer Road with two occupants inside. The duo were pulled out of the vehicle at gunpoint and taken into custody. The suspect was identified as Allen L. Deniston, 22, of Raymond, and the passenger was determined to be an unwilling participant.
Deniston was arrested and transported to the Pacific County Jail for booking and DUI processing. He allegedly blew a minimum Drager Breathalyzer Blood Alcohol Content (BAC) of .096 BAC and a highest of .104 BAC.
According to court records, Deniston is currently charged with felony DUI, felony eluding and reckless endangerment.
Deniston appeared for a preliminary Pacific County Superior Court appearance on May 6. Judge Heidi Heywood released Deniston without bail and scheduled his arraignment for May 10.
