Charges filed two years after suspected narcotics buy

Formal charges have been filed against a north Pacific County woman in connection with at least two illegal narcotics stings in 2022. The operations acquired an unspecified amount and type of illegal narcotics during the buys.

The suspect, identified as Felicia A. Wichert, was not arrested immediately following the controlled buys.

According to court records, charges and a motion for arrest were filed in Pacific County Superior Court on April 9, 2024. Wichert was issued a summons on April 10, with a scheduled arraignment on May 3.

Wichert reportedly landed on the radar of the Pacific County Joint Drug Task Force after being named by confidential informants (CI) as someone they could purchase illegal narcotics from. The stings were conducted in late August 2022 and November 2022.

“The CI advised that Wichert showed up, and the CI gave Wichert the buy money in exchange for the controlled substance,” a task force officer stated in court records. “The CI turned this over to [another task force officer].”

The task force entered the substance into evidence and sent it to the Washington State Patrol Crime Lab in Seattle for a formal analysis. The test results were not included in the submitted court records.

It is not uncommon for formal charges to not be filed against a suspected drug peddler until a substance analysis has been completed, which can take many months due to backups at the crime lab.
