Meet Duane, the lovable pup who has been patiently waiting for his forever home for over 800 days! Some of you may have followed the twists and turns of his journey. This handsome fella has been through a lot, having been adopted twice only to be returned each time through no fault of his own. Duane is a 7-year-old sweetheart who deserves a loving family and a place to call his own. Don’t let him spend another day without the warmth and comfort of a forever home.

Some of Duane’s top loves: Food of any kind, particularly a nibble of pizza! Sniffs on his on walks, be ready to walk slow, Duane needs to sniff every blade of grass! Snuggles on the couch. If you like using a weighted blanket, Duane will happily fill in. As long as his face is near enough to yours for the occasional kiss, he will lay anywhere! Other dogs, Duane loves other dogs! Watching TV and particularly cartoons. Attention, regardless if it’s regular pets, a big squeeze, or gentling grabbing his jowls and moving them around to make funny faces, Duane just wants attention. Sunshine, Duane adores a good nap in the dirt when it’s hot outside. In fact, he will ignore all calls for him to come inside!

A few things our boy doesn’t like: his feet being touched. Cats: he needs a home without any feline friends. The rain, Duane is a typical pittie, hates the rain! He will sit and hide rather than venture out in the rain! Due to his arthritis, he is not a contender to be a running or hiking partner. While he really likes going for walks, these are better when shorter and regular rather than long and lingering.

As for children, Duane doesn’t seem to particularly care about kids one way or the other. He is probably not a good fit for families with kids under 5, just because he’s a bit clumsy!

Super sweet Tuscany

Tuscany came to us with an unusual story. A local caring couple had taken him to the vet to have him neutered as a feral cat. He was battered looking, with a wound on his tail, and they assumed he was wild. Well, in no time flat, this charming 5 year old buff and white boy announced to the vet staff that not only was he not feral, he was super friendly and affectionate!

He was neutered and received a “lion cut” to treat the wound on his tail. We gladly received him into our care at the shelter. Tuscany proved to be a total “love bug.” He is great with the other kitties in the free-range playroom, and with the kids who come to visit. He even lets the kids carry him around like a purring “stuffie”!
