On March 26, our “beloved” former president, Donald J. Trump, stooped to what I can only call a new low by huckstering the Holy Bible, finally supplemented with copies of our country’s founding documents, on his Truth Social network. You may have thought his recent golden tennis shoe sales pitch was a desperate plea for your bucks, but this one pretty much takes the manna.

“Happy Holy Week! Let’s Make America Pray Again. As we lead into Good Friday and Easter, I encourage you to get a copy of the God Bless The USA Bible.”

Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for prayer and reading the Bible. However, I have no intention of paying $59.99 for a Bible, which according to Lee Greenwood, who has somehow been suckered into this Elmer Gantry scheme, has been “endorsed: by Donald J. Trump himself.

Greenwood’s website says that this product is not political and has nothing to do with any political campaign.

I don’t know about you, but do have trouble believing that good old “Art of the Deal” Trump would bother with trumpeting a “God Bless the USA Bible” unless he is somehow going to profit from it.

Next thing you and I know, the guy will be trying to figure out a way to endorse and profit off of the second coming of Jesus Christ.
