Sheriff Daniel Garcia

We spent the evening at a meet and greet for Sheriff Daniel Garcia, the Pacific County sheriff. I can wholeheartedly say I believe that we are in good hands.

The county sheriff is the only law enforcement elected by the people for the people. Sheriff Garcia has the people of Pacific County as his first priority.

In his position, he has to juggle politics, funding, and public opinion while providing leadership and stability for our community. I believe that he has the experience and attitude that is needed to best serve our community.

I was most impressed with his dedication to his role as sheriff in spite of obstacles that foolish people try to place in his path. After being elected as sheriff, he attended academy four days a week and spent the other three days of the week serving Pacific County in his duly elected role as sheriff. Rather than commend him for working seven days a week serving the job that he has been elected to do, they tried to accuse him of impersonating a law officer since he did not have their certificate finished yet. He correctly let them know that he was the sheriff of Pacific County with or without their certificate.

I have a personal belief that one should “Lead, Follow, or Get the Hell out of the Way.” Sheriff Garcia is the personification of a leader, and is the leader that Pacific County will need should we ever be faced with uncertain times and direction.

The sheriff’s office has let us know that they are open to anything that helps them be more involved with the Pacific County community.
