As current members of the board of commissioners for Willapa Harbor Hospital (a public hospital district), we would like to thank everyone in North Pacific County for listening and learning about our need to replace the current hospital and its primary care clinic (Willapa Medical Clinic). We appreciate the time and attention everyone spent at our public meetings, small group events as well as reading and viewing our educational materials online, in print, and over the radio.

While we are disappointed in the community’s decision, we are grateful for the opportunity we had to share more information with everyone concerning our replacement hospital need and our potential plans for the future. We are extremely grateful for the wonderful care our employees, nurses, and physicians provide every day. Our caregivers ensure the health and wellness of our community continues. Their compassion for patients and families within our community is embodied within our mission statement, “Caring for You, for Life,” meaning that we want to be your primary point of care in all stages of your life. Also, our entire team at WHH and WMC is committed to serving you every day with, “Service Excellence, Always,” which is our vision statement. Our employees, doctors and nurses demonstrate they truly live our values of compassion, accountability, respect, trust and teamwork in the services they provide to our community every day.
As we look forward to the future of healthcare within our North Pacific County community, we will continue to listen to the needs of our community as well as the needs of our staff, nurses and physicians. It is vitally important that our community residents have access to high quality healthcare; and that our staff, nurses and physicians have the space, tools, equipment and technology to meet these needs while meeting quality of care standards. Working together, we hope to provide healthcare for our community for many generations to come.
We invite all within our region who have an interest in advancing and improving healthcare to learn more about what we do every day to save lives and to share your ideas with us. Our board meetings are open to the public and are regularly held at our South Bend location on the fourth Tuesday of every month at 5:30 p.m. We plan to continue listening more to our community through public meetings, patient feedback surveys and through reading communication we receive in all other formats.

Your input and feedback into your public hospital is crucial in our efforts to plan what healthcare will look like in North Pacific County over the next 50 to 70 years. Again, thank you for your support over the many years our hospital and clinics have served the North Pacific County community.
