PACIFIC COUNTY — A bout of unseasonably cold temperatures last week culminated in sporadic snow squalls and frequent hail that briefly blanketed the peninsula for a few hours last Friday. On Friday, March 1, temperatures hovered in the mid-to-high 30s, well above the coldest day on record for that date, a frigid 22 degrees, but roughly 10 degrees below the seasonal average (46 degrees). By Monday, temperatures had begun to climb back to their seasonal average, with a high in the mid 40s.
