Growing up in the 70s, we weren’t allowed to watch much TV, especially on school nights. The one exception was when “M*A*S*H” was on. We got to watch it since it was our Dad’s favorite (along with “Gunsmoke,” of course). What I remember from the series was the sign outside the 4077th’s compound that read “BEST CARE ANYWHERE.”

I recently found myself in acute need of medical care at Ocean Beach Hospital and upon my discharge, I was reminded of that sign from my TV show. I just had received the “best care anywhere.” So many to thank during my visit, beginning with Dr. Beaver and his emergency department staff, to the professionals in Imaging and Pharmacy, along with the caring RN/assistant staff on days and nights. Lab crew was great, too. A special thanks to Mr. Bellinger for his primary care and of course Dr. Weaver and his outstanding and friendly surgical/recovery team.

It was a big comfort to me to be close to home so that family and friends could easily visit. And, the fact that I already knew many of the hospital staff that were taking care of me, kept me at ease and strongly aided in my quick recovery.

To conclude, thanks again, Ocean Beach Hospital and Medical Clinics for providing “The Best Care Anywhere.”
