Letter: Keep the positives in mind

How bad is it or how good is it? Obviously depends on one’s circumstances, but perhaps as much or even more on how it is or isn’t dealt with. I was happy to find that we are above the poverty level, but considered low-income, while I see us as doing good.

I find it disturbing that I get so much negative feedback when I post positive findings. Perhaps even more disturbing, this feedback seldom or never offers any substance to disclaim my positive findings.

My positivity does by no means keep me from seeing the negative — I simply choose to enjoy the best parts of life available to me. I have faith in God, and I pray I can keep my faith in this country keeping our democracy. It was sorely tested on Jan. 6, 2020 and still is threatened.

Every night I pray Ukraine can oust the evil from Russia, as it wants to spread. I pray for the Middle East to calm down and quit killing each other. Wondering how much hate Bush’s war in Iraq created in the now. Thankfully China has calmed down some, as their economy is doing poorly.

There is a bipartisan bill on immigration that would be helpful, but this sadly is being rejected by our do-nothing Congress by order of ex-president #45. Unfortunately, no real reform has been able to get through Congress over the years. Our prior administration reduced the amount of legal and educated immigrants allowed, while our laws allow anyone anywhere to seek asylum for many reasons, way beyond original planning.
