We received our 2024 property tax statement from Pacific County and decided to compare what we will pay for the 2024 Ocean Beach School District M&O and Local School Cap project and the new proposed 2025 Ocean Beach School District M&O and Tech Levies.

Here is what we did:

1. On the computer, go to Pacific County Taxsifter (www.co.pacific.wa.us/assessor/TaxSifter.htm). Enter Last name, first name. This will bring up all properties listed with your name.

2. Click on your property.

3. Click on treasurer.

4. Click on statement.

5. Once on the statement, see itemization: Local School Cap Proj and Local School M&O. The numbers to the right of both will tell you what the 2024 dollar amount you are to pay for each item.

6. Click back to Assessor and go down the page to Historical Valuation Information to find 2024 valuation.

7. For 2025 Tech Levy cost multiply $0.19 times the 2024 valuation (in 1,000s). Now compare to 2024 Local School Cap Proj (Item 5 above)

8. For 2025 Local School M & O Levy cost Multiply $.92 times the 2024 valuation (in 1,000s) Now compare to 2024 Local School M & O above (Item 5 above)

For us, the difference between what we are paying on the retiring levies and what we’ll pay on the 2025 levies is minus 18 cents.
