NASELLE — Two Naselle football players have been honored at the state level.
Offensive lineman William Anderson and running back Jack Strange were named to the All-State 1B first team by the Washington State Football Coaches Association.
And the additional good news for Naselle is both of the honorees are juniors.
Liberty Bell quarterback Lucien Pax, also a junior, was named by the coaches as player of the year. He led his Winthrop school as it repeated as champions, defeating Wilbur-Creston-Keller 68-22 in the final game at Husky Stadium in Seattle. Four of his teammates, also underclassmen, were also honored by the coaches.
Naselle’s season ended in a quarterfinal loss against WCK, which then defeated Comet rivals Mossyrock in the semifinals.
