Fun Fundraising for the Humane Society
Peninsula – During the entire month of January, Adrift Hospitality is donating $7 to the shelter for each Cocktail for a Cause Tea Thyme cocktail/mocktail enjoyed at the Shelburne Pub, Pickled Fish, or The Knot Bar in Astoria. And….Dylan’s Cottage Bakery continues to donate $.50 to the shelter for every Maple Dog doughnut sold this month. Thank you for your support!

Peninsula Patriots present the Six-Video Series entitled “The Constitution Is The Solution,” beginning Thursday, January 25th and continuing for five Thursdays thereafter, at the Ocean Park Public Library, 1308 256th Place, Ocean Park, WA, at 6:30PM. OCEAN PARK — OPACC will hold their monthly January membership meeting on Thursday, Jan. 11, at 8 a.m. at the Pacific County Fire District #1 Building, Community Hall. In addition to the regular business meeting, they will be having the 2024 Executive Board installation and guest speaker Amy Huntley from OBSD will speak about the upcoming levies on the February voting ballot. Membership and the general public are encouraged to attend.
Columbia Pacific Heritage Museum family stories
ILWACO — The museum will host a workshop Jan. 13 with writer Kristen Millares Young of Seattle from the 2024-2025 Humanities Washington Speakers Bureau program. It will be offered in English at 1 p.m. and in Spanish at 2:30 p.m. at the museum, 115 S.E. Lake St., in Ilwaco. The free program is designed to teach how to preserve family stories. ILWACO — The Friends’ first meeting of 2024 will be held at the Ilwaco library meeting room on Jan. 16 3 p.m. The public is welcomed to join and help plan 2024 events and goals.
USCG Book Talk planned in Naselle
NASELLE — John Kopp, a retired U.S. Coast Guardsman, will speak during the Appelo Archive Center’s Winter Author Series. His talk and book signing is 2 p.m. Jan. 16 at the Center in Naselle. Kopp, now a mental health professional in Port Angeles, published a book called “CG 41332: Surfmen, the Cape Disappointment Motor Lifeboat School, and the Forgotten Tragedy That Transformed U.S. Coast Guard Boat Operations.” It tells the story of a 1977 accident involving a Cape Disappointment vessel. Peninsula Patriots host ‘Police State’ showing
OCEAN PARK — The group will be showing Dinesh D’Souza and Dan Bongino’s documentary, “Police State,” at the Ocean Park Public Library, 1308 256th Lane, Ocean Park, 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 16. The public is invited to this free showing. The organizer says they are expecting more attendees than they are allowed to have in the room. RSVP and you will be assured of obtaining a seat. Women’s March planned for Jan. 20
LONG BEACH — The eighth annual Women’s March and Rally will take place Jan. 20 at Veterans Field in downtown Long Beach. Those attending will gather at 11 a.m. and are requested to wear pink hats and bring signs!

AlAnon Family Groups are open to any adult. The only requirement for membership is that there is a concern about problem drinking by a relative or friend.
