Though his history is a mystery, it did not take long for him to capture the hearts of the volunteer dog walkers. This approximately 2-year-old pit-mix is a new addition who is already making a lasting impression! Vinny is a vibrant pup eager to explore life’s adventures.

Handsome Vinny might look tough, but he’s a bighearted love bug. His breed is as charming as his personality! Vinny is an affection connoisseur; his favorite pastime seems to be snuggling up for a big cuddle. Do not, however, be fooled by his love for cuddles. He is also incredibly smart, loyal, and playful — a true all-rounder!

This young boy walks well on a leash, showcasing good manners for his age. Vinny loves his walks. He is fascinated with everything he encounters on these outings. His nose is usually to the ground sniffing for the next thing to explore, even the occasional mole hills he comes across. His puppy-like curiosity makes for interesting and entertaining walks.

Vinny seems to have his preferences with other dogs, so a meet-and-greet with your furry friend would be essential. He is a bit selective, but with the right match, he could be a great companion.

After months of construction, Chipotle Mexican Grill is open in Warrenton, and they are already showing their community spirit by supporting local non-profits, and on Saturday, Jan. 6, 2024, they are featuring the SPCHS! Shelter Wish List

We have had quite a demand for kibble dog and cat food needed to feed the pets of local low income residents, and we would be very grateful to receive donations of dry food. Donations can be dropped off at the shelter, or ordered online at Amazon or Chewy for delivery. Thank you for thinking of low income pets during the holidays! When the weather turns colder, pets living outdoors need more calories to stay warm.

We are open 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday by appointment only for adoptions and surrenders. Stray drop-off, spay/neuter vouchers and pet food program are available during open hours.
