Five wrestlers on this year’s squad concluded the season at Adna Dec. 9 with first-place finishes.
For the girls, Sage Womack placed first at 126 pounds. Boys winning their weight classes were Mark Reagan (130 pounds), Brexton Weidner (137), Byron Petit (191) and Sisto Arena (211).
In all, Ilwaco placed 13 wrestlers in the top three.

Placing third were Dean Schauer (77), Colten Vandermeulen (92), Sam Eakin (107), Chris Arenett (144) and for the girls, Kennedi Kemmer (106).
Medals were presented to the top four in each class.
In team tallies, Ilwaco took second to 1A Montesano, which won by just five points.
The team is coached by Matt McKinstry and Michael “Mikey” Rodda, a 2021 IHS graduate who placed fourth at state at 285 pounds in 2020.
“This was a great tournament to close out the season,” noted Larry Kemmer, the Ilwaco High School head coach.
