Letter: PUD Food Drive was successful

The PUD commission and General Manager Marc Wilson would like to thank the PUD employees and Pacific County customers for their generous donations for our 1st Annual PUD Food Drive that kicked off Public Power Week on Oct. 1. Our community dropped off 916 pounds of canned and dry goods and $1,732 cash donations that will be divided between our five Pacific County food banks. It was a huge success.

During the entire month of October we started a friendly competition between south county Peninsula Operating Center (POC) and north county Willapa Operating Center (WOC). Whichever Operating Center collected the most food and cash combined would win a pizza party lunch. Amazingly, the amount collected was exactly equal, so both areas will get a pizza party provided by the Board of Commissioners.

Thanks to our community we are now in the process of distributing the food and cash that was generously donated to the five food banks located in Chinook, Ilwaco, Ocean Park, Raymond and South Bend before Thanksgiving and help those in need.

Pacific PUD, your public utility district is proud to give back to our community. Thank you to all who donated and gave your generous support.
