Letter: Hungry people depend on all of us

The Ocean Park Food Bank is looking forward to the latest Corder Foundation Matching Grant Challenge. Using funds from last year’s Challenge (and other donations), we are providing whole chickens, stuffing, gravy, cranberry sauce, instant potatoes, and whole pies to each family coming in the last half of November. We do this each year, and also provide special meal items in December.

We could not do this without the generous support of residents of the peninsula. Families served have risen from 3,862 families in FY 2022 to 5,957 families in FY 2023. Our expenses for food purchases have increased over two-fold in the last year. As you may know, we are purchasing our current location to ensure a permanent home for the future. We are working hard to find funding for this project also. Donations can be sent to P.O. Box 907, Ocean Park 98640 or you can use our website oceanparkfoodbank.org.
Thank you to our many donors for your years of support.
