League honors 10 Ilwaco football players

Ilwaco football players earned the applause of Central 2B league coaches in their annual selections.

Named to the east-west all-league first team were offensive linemen Cooper Petit and Andrew Gaerlan.
Running back Cannon Johnson was also named to the first team, along with defensive lineman Marcus Lynch and defensive back Kaemon Sawa. Wade Smith was selected as a first-team linebacker.
The all-league second team selections included running back Boston Caron, defensive back Derrick Cutting and punter Ethan Hopkins. Robert Sanders was honored at tight end and on the defensive line.

Honorable mentions went to Sawa as a running back, Johnson and Caron on the defensive line, Petit as a linebacker and Hopkins as a kicker.
Andy Bartell of Rainier was named coach of the year.
In the north division, Raymond-South Bend was well represented. Robby Stigall was named the most valuable defensive player. On the first team, Branson Williams was selected as an offensive lineman, Austin Snodgrass as quarterback and a punter, Ferril Johnson as a running back, Isaac Schleuter as a tight end, Branson Williams on the defensive line and Ashton Kongbouakhay as defensive back.
The second team featured Jayden Lindberg and Sawyer Duckworth on the offensive line, Duckworth on the defensive line, Stigall as a running back, Snodgrass as a linebacker and Johnson as a return specialist.
The league also honored coaches Mike Phelps of Kalama and Josh Fay of Napavine.
Emerson honored
Ilwaco midfielder Chloe Emerson, a senior, earned an honorable mention in the 2B Central All-League fall soccer selections. This year’s honors were dominated by Kalama, whose players earned all three MVP awards and whose coach, Jon Bates, was named coach of the year.
