Why I plan to vote for Anna Taft for school board.

I have lived on the peninsula since I was 8 years old, and I also went through our school system. I am now putting my children through our school system and have become a business owner in this community. This community is my home and the schools where my kids attend have become a passion for me. I want to help in any way, and I want them to thrive to be better.
I’ve seen how amazing our school board is and I’ve seen the work they’ve done even under horrible situations like covid. Is our school board perfect? No. Should change happen to better the school system for our kids? Yes! However it’s not always easy to make massive changes in this day and age! The fine line, red tape, new rules and regulations constantly changing and then there are those who say one thing and do another!
Anna has always been a voice for our children, striven for change and she has always made it a point to be so involved with all of our schools as a whole. Having her voice on the school board, as a parent of a child in our school district, is truly what is needed. After attending the Candidates Forum in Ocean Park, I took some time to think about what would truly be the best option for our children. I came to the conclusion that if we make drastic changes and put someone on the board who doesn’t know our kids, our schools, and our traditions without first allowing someone who already is such a huge asset to the board and makes the changes happen, then we start over. We would hope for a new outcome from someone we have zero trust in or confidence and who doesn’t know our unique challenges our schools face.

Anna has shown this community our kids come first, while still running a thriving business! She makes it a priority to attend all the sporting events, musical events, art shows, anything the school puts out their for our kids etc., she also donates her time to take photos and make every child smile. I feel that Anna still has a lot to do with her time on the board to better the future of our children. I believe Anna’s voice is heard and she will fight for what our kids need. I believe she has the best interest for our children and always will! So I will be voting for Anna Taft on Election Day and I truly encourage all of you to do the same.
