Please oh please oh please, spare us your readers and long time subscribers from the absurd rantings of your usual guest columnists, most recently Dave Gauger.

I don’t mind if you entertain some serious thoughts, but really, Mr. Gauger displays serious Trump Derangement Syndrome — more a call for help than serious political comment.

And since he idolizes Eisenhower Republicans over contemporary ones, I tell you what Mr. Gauger, I’ll trade you all of the Eisenhower Republicans for one John Kennedy Democrat, who believed in free markets, personal responsibility, low taxes, and the real American dream of hard work and delayed gratification for a better country. All this while most of his fellow Democrats were opposing civil rights and enforcing Jim Crow laws.

Spare me your delusions Mr. Gauger, reality is a hard lesson. I advise you to attend to it.
