ROSBURG — The annual crab and oyster feed hosted by Deep River American Legion Post 0111 has been scheduled for Jan. 27, 2024.

“This is not one of those crab dinners where customers are run in to eat and then run out as fast as possible to make way for another group of diners,” said Post Commander Gene Strong. “Our patrons receive an entire evening of activities that include: happy hour, a meal of crab, all-you-can-eat oysters, baked beans, potato salad, coleslaw and garlic bread; a raffle; and a dance.”

The large number of raffle items includes a lever action .410 shotgun and a guided fishing trip. Raffle tickets are $1 each. Raffle ticket holders will not need to be present to win. Ticket sales begin Oct. 1. The cost for the event is $35 a person. Sales are limited to 199 patrons and generally sell out fairly quickly.
