The Dahlia Show is part contest, part show and will highlight dahlias, which have long been a bloom of choice of local gardeners. Registration for the event is open now. For more information, go to tinyurl.com/CPHM-Dalia-Show.
The garden consultants will be in the café room inside the museum and will be happy to answer your dahlia questions or any other landscape-related questions, concerns, and suggestions.
Examples of questions include:
• What types of viruses and insects are dahlias prone to?
• Do I have to dig up my dahlia bulbs in the fall and store them?
• My Asian pear tree did not have many Asian pears this year. Why?
• What tomatoes do best in our marine climate?
• How can I best keep my raised beds ready for spring planting?
• When is a good time to plant vegetable seeds and transplants?
The master gardeners can help you! Bring samples if you can.
They will also have handouts on the following topics as well as other information:
• Watering home gardens and landscape plants
• Winterizing your yard
