Sen. Jeff Wilson, who represents the Long Beach Peninsula in the Washington State Senate, attended the Aug. 23 school board meeting.

In keeping with the current board’s disdain for public input, they refused to allow him to speak. Yes, they knew who he was because he introduced himself. He was treated like most attendees who want to make a statement or ask a question.

It is time that the Ocean Beach School District has board members who respect others and seek out public input. This November, peninsula residents will have the opportunity to vote on three board member seats.
