My wife and I support the Ocean Beach Hospital and Medical Clinic’s (OBHMC) $10 million capital bond election on Aug. 1, 2023. Yes, I am currently a volunteer on the Ocean Beach Hospital Foundation Board.

There are many projects listed in the details for this bond, including the urgent care facility that will save any of us from going to Astoria for an urgent care (or an expensive trip to ER) situation. This local facility will reduce travel time for non-life threating situations and use less of our state’s expensive gasoline.

Another project listed is the HVAC equipment replacement that will lower operational cost and improve air quality in the building.

It is estimated to cost $68 per year on property that is assessed at $400,000. This is less expensive than filling one of my vehicles with Washington’s gas.

In summary, please vote with us and approve the $10 million capital bond that will be up for vote on Aug. 1. Let’s keep quality healthcare here in our local communities.
