Letter: Trump’s sad court legacy lives on

If you haven’t already figured this out, electing a president goes far beyond his time in office. The U.S. Supreme Court now has three justices who lied to get in after Sen. Mitch McConnell, through corrupt methods, got them three far-right lifetime memberships on the court. We now have six Catholics ruling based on their faith, not the Constitution. It’s time to impose term limits and ethical requirements.

The Supreme Court now the lowest trust numbers in history — way to go for those who couldn’t vote for Hillary Clinton, who perhaps lost when then-FBI Director James Comey said she was under investigation. Now we have a one-term, twice-impeached, twice-indicted, under many other investigations front runner for the Republican Party presidential nomination.

My goodness, this country is not what it used to be. Far-right extremist are the loudest, while “real” Republicans are scared to speak their minds in fear of the “Trumpet’s” blow back. Sad, in my opinion.

There was a time, I was ready to vote for John McCain until he picked Sarah Palin as his running mate. So I’m not averse to picking a Republican. That said, its move to the darkest far right will, at this point, eliminate the possibility of a single Republican vote from me — local, state, or federal. I really need to hear decent voices from the right.

In my opinion, under President Biden much good progress has been implemented, much with bipartisan voting, which will in the future years keep improving our country. Funny how Republicans who voted against some of these programs now happily cheer the implementation in their districts and states. If you don’t feel we are doing better, you are not looking at where the whole world is, to which we are forever tied.
