Letter: Bond will meet needs, retain professionals

I have been a Long Beach Peninsula resident since 1997. My wife and I have needed emergence care services from Ocean Beach Hospital on more than just a few occasions, and each time we received quality care. During some of those times the ER was packed although some, including me on one occasion, could have easily been cared for at an Urgent Care Center and not taken up important space for the more critical needs patients. We need the nonprofit urgent care center.

For many years I served as president for Bank of the Pacific. Ocean Beach Hospital was our client and one of the things that always stood out to me as their banker was the difficulty attracting physicians to our rural hospital. Making our hospital more up to date and efficient will serve to help attract quality physicians to better serve our needs. Kathy (my wife), and I will be voting “Yes” on Aug. 1.
