Here are a few of the grown-up cats awaiting adoption at the South Pacific County Humane Society Animal Shelter in Long Beach.

In order to get more of our adult cats adopted and make way for incoming kittens, we are having an adoption event where cats three years and over can be adopted for free to approved adopters. These cats have been sponsored by staff and volunteers. The sale will run until July 9, 2023.

If you want to see which kitties are available for this sale, visit our website beachpets.com and go to the “Adopt” section to view the available cats and read their bios. If you are interested in a kitty, complete an application and send it to us electronically. If you are not sure which cat interests you, just enter “view” in the section calling for a cat’s name. Our staff will review your application, and once approved, you will be contacted to come and see the cats in person.

Last week, the first week of the adoption event, four cats found their forever homes. Beautiful calico Clover Mae, Alder, mellow Herman, and pretty house panther Bean all joined their excited new owners in loving homes. If you have been wanting a new kitty, now is the time to take advantage of this great sale!

Calling all golfers! Fore!

This very enjoyable annual fundraiser is unique to golf related fundraisers on the Peninsula because it allows golfers to golf with their dogs! This year’s event will take place at the Peninsula

Golf Course in Long Beach Washington, on Sunday, July 16.

We are looking for sponsors as well as golfers for the event. We are hoping this event will be well supported and well attended, as we rely heavily on fundraising to raise much needed funds for the care of the shelter animals. Duffers! Dust off your clubs!

We are open 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday by appointment only for adoptions and surrenders. Stray drop-off, spay/neuter vouchers and pet food program are available during open hours.
