As is happening with most shelters across the nation, the adult cat census at our no-kill shelter has boomed, and we still need to make room for the arriving kittens. Our kittens that have been in foster homes are getting old enough to enter the shelter, and we are running out of space!

So, some of our volunteers have done some brainstorming, and have decided that the best thing to do would be to sponsor some of our adult kitties, not only to give these deserving kitties homes, but to make room for the kittens.

We are having an adoption event for adult cats — Over Three Free (for you). The event runs through July 9. These cats are fully vetted and ready to go! Our usual adoption screening criteria will apply, so if you are interested in one of these sponsored kitties, visit our website beachpets.com and go to “Events” to see the available cats. To learn more about a particular cat, go to the “Adopt” section to view photographs and bios on individual cats.

If you are interested in a sponsored cat, submit an application, found in the “Adopt” section, to us electronically. If you are not sure which kitty interests you, just enter “view” in the section calling for the pet’s name, and we will contact you to make arrangements for you to come and visit all the kitties in person! If you have been thinking of adopting a kitty, now is a great time! Not everyone is interested in having a kitten. Adult cats are calmer, better behaved, and their true personalities have evolved so it is easier to see if they would be a good fit for you and your family!

We are open 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday by appointment only for adoptions and surrenders. Stray drop-off, spay/neuter vouchers and pet food program are available during open hours.
