Letter: What does Trump see in his mirror?

On June 6 when Chris Christie, the former governor of New Jersey, announced his 2024 run for president of the United States, he had some choice words for former President Trump, the chief Republican contender for the 2024 presidential office. The one phrase that stuck in my mind was “Mirror Hog,” a term I had never heard before so I tried to look it up. Not much success, but somehow I believe it must relate to the Grimm’s fairy tale of “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.”

In this tale, an evil queen looks into her magic mirror every day and asks: “Mirror, mirror, on the wall, who is the fairest of them all?”

Right now Donald J. Trump is facing charges regarding mishandling of classified documents; a civil lawsuit claiming the Trump organization lied to lenders about its assets; Fulton County, Georgia is considering charges surrounding efforts by the former president to overturn the 2020 election results there; and meanwhile the Stormy Daniels hush money case may not be over yet.

On Truth Social, his own social media platform, Trump whined to his mirror on June 7 that:

“No one has told me I’m being indicted, and I shouldn’t be because I’ve done NOTHING wrong, but I have assumed for years that I am a Target of the WEAPONIZED DOJ & FBI, starting with the Russia, Russia, Russia HOAX, the “No Collusion” Mueller Report, Impeachment HOAX #1, Impeachment HOAX #2, the PERFECT Ukraine phone call, and various other SCAMS & WITCH HUNTS. A TRAVESTY OF JUSTICE & ELECTION INTERFERENCE AT A LEVEL NEVER SEEN BEFORE. REPUBLICANS IN CONGRESS MUST MAKE THIS THEIR # 1 ISSUE!!!”

If I didn’t know better I would think the poor man is being unfairly picked on and might as well go eat worms. On the other hand I seem to recall that a number of folks were ripped off by his Trump University scam. Anyone who thinks he is so incredibly faultless might also want to check out the Trump management racial housing discrimination lawsuit of 1973, or how about a president who filed for bankruptcy in 1991, 1992, 2004 and 2009? Nothing illegal about that, but it sure makes me wonder what kind of man former President Trump actually sees when he looks into his bathroom mirror in the morning.
