Letter: Please support our food banks

Please consider a tax-deductible donation to one of our peninsula food banks. The Loren H. Corder Foundation will match any donation received before Dec. 21. All our food banks are run by volunteers with no paid staff, so your donation will go directly to help clients.

The St. Vincent de Paul food bank in Ilwaco has seen a 30% reduction in food from our normal sources and we have spent almost twice as much as last year on food ($17,907 compared to $9,783). We gave 134 families $40 meal coupons for Sid’s Market for Thanksgiving and plan to do the same for Christmas and Easter. We need support from our community to continue to help our neighbors in need.
