Letter: Keep Anderson at PUD for effective leadership

The choice for District 3 PUD Commissioner is an obvious one. After attending the PUD commission meetings for four and a half years, Dick Anderson decided that he could be of good help so he ran for and won his first term in 2016.

He has now been involved for over 10 years and the PUD is running lean and mean. That is to say while a commissioner, Dick has helped the Pacific County PUD remain one of the lowest-cost energy providers in the state. In his tenure he helped stop the costly and unneeded Tokeland expansion and the “across the bay” extension to Oysterville — both being multi-million dollar projects.
Dick Anderson is a man that uses real life experience in his decision making process, and there is a lot of it. He taught high school locally for 30 years and he started and still operates Anderson Construction since 1977. He is a proud father and grandfather.
Dick is also proud to say that his council chose not to raise customer’s rates for this next year and so with inflation affecting all of us at this time the PUD will not be adding to that pain. With our neighboring PUDs running in the hole by more than 100 million dollars each, our PUD is running in the black with more funds in the bank than are owed. This shows that good decisions are being made at the highest levels.

So, vote with me for a successful and proven leader, vote for Dick Anderson for PUD and continue our low rates and amazing fiscal management.
