Letter: Team sports are supposed to be for all

On Sept. 30 there was a football game between Ilwaco High and Rainier High School. I witnessed several players standing on the sidelines never got to play the whole game — why is this?

Football or any team sport is supposed to be for the whole team, not just a few players. I do know for a fact that some of these players never missed a practice, always showed up on time, yet they never get to play. Why is this?

Football, basketball, baseball are all team sports. There is no team camaraderie here when only a handful of the players get to play. If they are supposed to be on a JV squad, there are no JV games, so how is that supposed to work. It’s not the students’ fault. These students show more team sportsmanship than their coaches.

I don’t live here but I saw wrong examples being demonstrated.
