Letter: Downing’s wit and wisdom will be missed

So sad to hear of the passing of Wayne Downing, Ocean Park, WA. I so looked forward to, and enjoyed so much, his words of philosophic wisdom/life experiences in his monthly columns in the Chinook Observer.

Every year, for many years, I clipped out his columns, picked out a half dozen or so of the very best ones (was hard to do to just choose five or six!) and made copies to send to my friends in my Christmas cards. Many of them (from out of this area) said it was one of the things they always looked forward to at Christmas. Wayne spread so much joy to so many people. I am sorry that I never ever told him that.

His time on earth was not wasted. Condolences to his family. RIP Wayne Downing.
