Letter: Council clowns entertain with fireworks fiasco

Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, may I direct your attention to the center ring of the Long Beach City Circus as we present the City Council Clowns.

Laugh along as you watch these bungling bureaucratic bozos fail to perform the simple task of noticing a calendar deadline. As these jovial jesters had only a year to plan for this, chuckle with merriment as the photo-finish approaches and they stumble and trip over their laptops and ordinance-notice guidelines, all the while squeezing each others’ red rubber noses as they discover the idiotic blunder.

No clown act is complete without juggling, and they do not fail to amuse with votes being bounced back and forth — switched from yes to no after the council chaos of failing to file the timely notice.

The patchwork pattern of different policy districts on the peninsula will be used by the Long Beach City Circus as a pattern for a quilt to be entered in the Annual Quilt Show — if they remember the date for the show.
