This trail is of moderate difficulty and begins in a serene cedar swamp before climbing to and then descending from the ridgetop above Porter Point. This trail offers wonderful views of Willapa Bay. Much of the trail is through regenerating forest on former logging roads. You may see large flocks of shorebirds and raptors, and some of the refuge’s raptors, including bald eagles, northern harriers, and American kestrels.

This walk is sponsored by the Friends of the Willapa Wildlife Refuge. The Friends are planning monthly walks in different Refuge locations.
